Benny the Bully

Feral cat cultures isn't all that different from human cultures. You have your affectionate cats, your scaredy cats, and your bully cats among an array of cat personalities. Benny falls into the latter category--a bully cat--but we don't hold it against him.

He is kind of exotic-looking in the markings of his coat and color of his eyes. He reminds us of an Abyssinian mixed breed of cat.

Benny is a bit high-strung, always feeling like he needs to compete for food and act aggressively toward the other cats. He clearly over-grooms his coat as evidenced by the bare patches around his hind legs, indicating that he is stressed. But, Benny creates his own stress.

A member of CATpassionate Village almost since its beginning, Benny is not shy nor aggressive toward his human caregivers. Quite the opposite. He enjoys being stroked and shows no signs of being frightened.

Despite being a bit of a misfit in the Village, Benny's caregivers shower him with affection, but scold him when he is unkind to his Village mates. They understand his bullying behavior is a defense mechanism that likely surfaced when hungry and homeless--before arriving at the Village.

Benny the Bully, doesn't really want to be a bully.
